A Note from Coach Alec...
Dear Greenbrook Families,
I am very excited to welcome you to the 2020 season! The time we spend every summer swimming, competing, learning, and having fun as a community is a special time and this year will bring more of the same. I want to thank all returning families for your continued dedication and I want to welcome you new families to the team.
This year we plan to build upon the successes of the past and continue to strive for excellence in the pool, work to build efficiency through technology in team management, and further develop our coaching and training plans.
One major change going into effect this year is that Coach Kyle Naumann will be serving as Co-Head Coach. Kyle did a phenomenal job in the 2019 season as the Assistant Head Coach, and this year he will be taking more of a lead role in both the “behind the scenes” work as well as the “on deck” training of our swimmers.
In addition, I want to share with you that this coming season will be my final season as head coach of the Gators. When I joined the team in 2012 I planned on a five year commitment, yet very quickly it seems, I am entering my ninth year in the role. I have enjoyed every minute of it and it has been my great pleasure to guide our young swimmers through so many of their formative years. However, as my work with year-round athletes progresses, it is increasingly difficult for me to dedicate the time necessary to serve effectively as head coach.
This has been a difficult decision for me to make, and while it is hard to say goodbye, I know I will be leaving the team in great hands with the coaching staff in place, the hard working Board Member volunteers, and the whole community of families that make Greenbrook the amazing team and family that it is!
I'm looking forward to 2020 and we are ready to make this the best season yet! Go Gators!
